Lunch prices in Kemi

How the lunch price settles in Kemi. The figures are computed from the lunch prices restaurants publish, and each one is printed with its sample size.

The median lunch price is 13.35 €, computed from the latest known lunch price of 10 restaurants.

Half of the restaurants fall between 12.23 € and 13.90 € (lower and upper quartile).

A buffet lunch is served at 77.8 % of the 9 restaurants whose lunch type is known (out of 10 restaurants in the price statistics).

4 of the 10 restaurants belong to a chain.

Dish-type shares

Share of the main dishes whose dish type was recognised, computed from 275 distinct main dishes, with the share of restaurants that served at least one beside it. A dish counts once per restaurant per week, and one dish can carry several labels – so the shares do not total 100 %. Vegan also counts as vegetarian.

Dish labels come from 9 restaurants.

Updated 7 Oct 2026. Prices: each restaurant’s newest lunch price from the last 30 days (7 Sep – 7 Oct 2026). Dish types: weeks 37–40/2026 (7 Sep – 4 Oct).

How the figures are computed

What is measured: the weekday lunch price a restaurant publishes – one price per restaurant, not per dish. Where a restaurant has no single lunch price and prices each lunch dish separately, the median price of that week’s lunch dishes is used. Prices are as published, VAT included and not adjusted for inflation. Each restaurant contributes its latest price from the past 30 days.

Price band: only lunch prices from €6.00 to €30.00 are counted. Below that lie subsidised student and staff canteens, above it à la carte lunches. Also left out are weeks whose list is not a real lunch menu (the restaurant’s regular à la carte menu, an old PDF, an error page or placeholder text only). Prices that do not appear on the page they were read from (in its text, in its menu images on a second reading, or in a chain’s menu feed) are left out too, and so are restaurants whose menu page was not found on the last three reads. On a chain’s page or a page shared by several restaurants only this location’s price counts – not another location’s page or section, nor the chain’s recommended price. A weekend price is not the weekday lunch price, and a price is left out when a newer reading found a different lunch price on the page. Student, staff, senior and children’s prices are not lunch prices, and a price is left out when the page says the lunch is on a break, closed for the season or its information over a year old. The median and quartiles are used because single extreme values barely move them.

Scope and bias: this covers restaurants LounasOpas knows of that publish a machine-readable lunch price – not every restaurant in Finland. The price statistics cover 2,880 restaurants across 212 municipalities; coverage is uneven, so the national figure follows the best-covered. Below 5 restaurants a median is indicative; quartiles need 10.

Sources and duplicates: chains and groups publish one price list for several locations, and some feeds advertise the week’s highest price. Some prices come from third-party lunch directories, not the restaurant’s own page; both counts are in the download. Near-identical listings at one address count once.

Buffet and dish types: the buffet share is taken over the restaurants whose lunch type is known – the restaurant’s own answer, or a menu, price list or page we have read within the last eight weeks. A restaurant whose weekday lunch has both a buffet and plated dishes counts as a buffet. The lunch type covers eight weeks, the price 30 days. The share used to be taken from the lunch type a price list named (92–94 %), then over every priced restaurant as a minimum (57 %); it now counts only the restaurants whose lunch type is known. Dish-type shares are shares of main dishes: side dishes, the salad bar and desserts are left out, and the dish types are assigned by the automatic reading of the menu. A dish counts once per restaurant per week however often it is served, and shares are of distinct dishes, not of mentions – one dish can carry several labels, so they do not total 100 %. Vegan also counts as vegetarian; gluten-free and lactose-free are allergen markings, reported separately.
