Where our data comes from
LounasOpas is a search service that gathers the lunch menus of Finnish restaurants into one place. We don't write the menus ourselves – we present the lunch information restaurants publish in a searchable form.
How the data is collected
The data is collected from restaurants' own websites and other public sources.
Menus are read automatically with the help of AI, and every menu is checked against automatic rules before it is published. Rejected menus are not shown. A single price or dish may still have been read wrongly – you can report errors to us at [email protected].
How often the data updates
New lunch menus are fetched at the start of the week. If a menu isn't there yet, the restaurant's page is checked several times a day on weekdays.
If a new menu hasn't been published yet, we show the most recent one and clearly mark which week it is from.
Coverage right now
We currently list over 5,400 lunch places in 259 municipalities, and about 4,500 of them, in 249 municipalities, have a lunch menu on LounasOpas.
